TESTIMONIAL
November 16, 2005
Dear Chad,
I dont know how to thank you and Living Lands and Waters for helping me in my greatest moment of need. The incredible and hard work that you performed at my house in Arabi, Louisiana, truly came at a time when I felt very hopeless. You were the first step in a rebuilding process that I never believed possible, but thanks to you now I do.
I have talked to many people about Living Lands and Waters and everyone believes that without participation in projects like yours, people would feel that there is no light at the end of the tunnel. It is because of people like you and your staff, in collaboration with volunteers that you enthuse and mobilize, that victims are able to face a major catastrophe. You make them feel as if theyre not alone. You help in the most meaningful manner you are on the ground and at the forefront, performing the hard work.
Also, I hope you and your staff will offer your insight on issues of preservation for the Louisiana wetlands as well as your ideas to balance environmental concerns with the construction of levees and canals. It may sound strange that I say that, but I feel you are experts. You were among the first on the ground to deal with the environmental devastation and have most definitely been the leaders on the path to reconstruction.
I am unable to express in words how much of a positive impact you have made on my and other peoples lives and how deeply you are admired. I cant imagine facing my life without your incredible hard work and your most genuine expression of humanity and good will.
Thank you so very much,
Sarah Mouw
