Greetings!

I was working at my desk today, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bald eagle's large brown wings swooping by the office window overlooking the Mississippi River. I crept to the window and grabbed the binoculars on the desk that were for just such an occasion. I watched while the majestic bird sat on a limb in the tree directly in front of me before taking flight over the ice-encrusted water. What an experience! It was definitely not just 'another day at the office' as it rarely is anyway here at Living Lands & Waters!

All of us at Living Lands & Waters wish all of you a terrific new year!

Laura Lopez, Living Lands & Waters newsletter editor
