CALLNG ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!
The MillionTrees Project is now entering its second phase, giving trees back to the community! Since 2007, LL&W has planted over 440,000 acorns in our nursery and the first crop is ready for harvest.
In March and April, LL&W will be giving away 100,000 oak seedlings to businesses, schools, youth groups, churches, families, anyone who’d like to plant a tree. This is a huge task and we are looking for some great volunteers, like you, to lend a hand. If you can spare an hour or four, please read on for details on how you can participate.
WHAT & WHEN:
The entire month of March, 2010 will be spent preparing 100,000 oak seedlings for deliveries throughout the Midwest. During this time, volunteers are needed to help LL&W in wrapping the seedlings and putting orders together. The most important factor in getting the trees from our nursery to your community is ensuring the proper environment for them. Each seedling will be wrapped in damp newspaper and a bag to retain needed moisture and protection for the roots. After the trees are properly wrapped, care tags will be attached to each bundle.
If you would like to volunteer for this project, please register below. Upon receipt of your registration, we will email you with available dates and times.
